We are very happy to have received three very special guests from the United Kingdom – Rt. Hon. Michael Gove, Member of Parliament (Secretary of State for Education, UK), Mr. Peter Walsh and Mr. Henry de Zoete. Our student representatives presented our different projects conducive to sustainable education which we are going to implement in the near future to Minister Gove. They are the Green Roof Project, the Solar Panel Project and the Horseshoe Crab Conservation Project. Minister Gove visited our ‘Road to Nobel Prize’ and our school-based Biotechnology lesson. Together with Dr. K. W. Cheung (Principal Assistant Secretary for Education, EDB, HK), Prof. Esther Ho from CUHK, Dr. Alice Wong from HKU, principals from other schools, our principal, teachers and students, Minister Gove held a discussion about the recent education reform in Hong Kong and the reasons behind Hong Kong’s good performance in PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) and TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study).
